Service for the disabled
Cologne Bonn Airport is particularly committed to ensure that people with disabilities travel in a pleasant and carefree manner. At the Airport, German Red Cross staff will provide assistance for passengers with reduced mobility.
Preparing for the trip
In order to make use of the PRM (persons with reduced mobility) service, registration should ideally be made directly at the time of your reservation with your travel agency or airline, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled departure time. Without prior notice, timely service cannot be guaranteed, and there may be longer waiting times.
It should be ensured that the airline is notified of the need for support. Please use the following international classifications to help you determine the degree of mobility restriction yourself.
WCHR: The passenger can walk short distances and can also climb stairs
WCHS: The passenger can walk short distances, but cannot climb stairs
WCHC: The passenger cannot walk independently and is unable to climb stairs
BLND: Visually impaired or blind passenger
DEAF: Deaf or hearing impaired passenger
BLND-DEAF: The passenger is blind and deaf
DPNA: The passenger has limited cognitive abilities or educational difficulties
Arrival and departure
Disabled persons in possession of a blue EU parking permit may, as a gesture of goodwill, park free of charge for up to 24 hours, on presentation of the permit (100% discount, in Car park 2 only). If your parking time exceeds 24 hours, you will receive a 50% discount on the current Car park 2 parking rate for goodwill. When leaving Car park 2, please present your severely handicapped pass and your ID card at the ticket office in P2 (level 4, at the exit to the motorway/Autobahn); we would kindly ask you to provide us with your personal data for auditing purposes. This goodwill agreement only applies to persons whose official disabled person's pass is marked "aG", "H", "B" or "Bl".
The voluntarily granted discounts are not applicable to online tariffs or online parking reservations, and will only be given upon presentation and copy of the disabled person's pass and ID card.
In Car park 2, the parking sectors are equipped with emergency call buttons which can be used to request assistance if necessary. The location of the emergency call buttons is indicated by signposts. The cardholder must be present when driving in and out of the Car park, as the EU parking permit is not transferable. Please note that the 50% and 100% discounts are granted voluntarily by Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH; there is no legal claim to these discounts.
Disabled accessible parking spaces can be found in Car park 1: upper level; in Car park 2: Level 4, Sector A, and in Car park 3: Level 1, Sector A. If you have any questions, please contact the car park administration:
