British Airways is back at Cologne/Bonn
A return on Friday night: the traditional carrier British Airways is back at Cologne Bonn Airport. One of their Airbus A320 took off for London Gatwick yesterday. From now on, the airline will be operating four flights a week to the city on the Thames. Thus, travellers from Cologne/Bonn once again have the choice between four different airports in London, as Heathrow, Stansted and Southend are already being served by other airlines. After twelve years, British Airways is back on Cologne/Bonn’s flight schedule. Back then, they used to fly from here to London Heathrow.
"We are more than happy to again see planes operated by this important traditional airline on Cologne/Bonn’ s apron. The Airport is now again welcoming British Airways, a member of the global airline alliance oneworld," says Johan Vanneste, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH.
London Gatwick is not only a great option for city breaks, but also for travellers with wanderlust: From its Gatwick hub, British Airways serves exciting destinations around the world, for instance in the Caribbean and North America. Passengers can easily change planes at Gatwick to make use of British Airways' long-haul network. If you wish to stay in the area, however, you can get to London city centre every 15 minutes by express train; for those who prefer the ocean breeze, Gatwick is the perfect base from which to catch a train to the southern English seaside resort of Brighton.
Tickets are available on the airline's website at www.britishairways.com from 24 € per route in the basic fare. Flight time is one hour and 25 minutes. Departures are on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
